LOVE...this one's for Michael

I was reading a friend's blog and her late latest post hit me right at the heart.  She speaks of her mother that has endured some health challenges and of the amazing love that she has witnessed between her mother and father during that time.

"Now my mom finds herself in a state where she is even more dependent on him physically,  through the brain tumor and all that went with the recovery she had, he was her steady rock.  I can't imagine how much their love deepened through all of these life changing experiences.  I wonder if years ago they could have imagined all that they would endure together.  Thinking of their love now, I am filled with a sense of what deep and true love means in a marriage and in the world.  The dictionary defines love as a strong affection, that definition seems weak after having seen first hand the deep and true fruits of love demonstrated between my parents.  A love that stands through the thick and the thin.  A love that I believe can only come after much trial and difficulty.  Because of what my mom has been through I will forever have memories of my Dad literally lifting her and wheeling her to church. Sweet demonstrations of what this life is truly all about.  Their faith and love for one another have allowed them to have joy and love throughout their at times extremely difficult journey.  In this world we live in where marriage and family are being attacked I feel grateful my children will have examples of happy and loving marriages, ones like my parent."

I too have seen this love and patience in my own parents with a father that has suffered through lymphoma cancer and other chronic illnesses and with my mom standing by his side.

Now I get to experience that love first hand from a loving husband.  I don't know what I'd do without him.  He too is my rock. My one true LOVE.

My new Favorite Song:

"Gone, Gone, Gone"

When life leaves you high and dry
I'll be at your door tonight
If you need help, if you need help
I'll shut down the city lights,
I'll lie, cheat, I'll beg and bribe
To make you well, to make you well

When enemies are at your door
I'll carry you away from war
If you need help, if you need help
Your hope dangling by a string
I'll share in your suffering
To make you well, to make you well

Give me reasons to believe
That you would do the same for me

And I would do it for you, for you
Baby, I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone.
For you, for you.
You would never sleep alone
I love you long after you're gone
And long after you're gone, gone, gone.

When you fall like a statue
I'm gon' be there to catch you
Put you on your feet, you on your feet
And if your well is empty
Not a thing will prevent me
Tell me what you need, what do you need

I surrender honestly
You've always done the same for me

So I would do it for you, for you.
Baby, I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone.
For you, for you.
You would never sleep alone.
I love you long after you're gone
And long after you're gone gone gone.

You're my back bone,
You're my cornerstone
You're my crutch when my legs stop moving
You're my head start,
You're my rugged heart
You're the pulse that I've always needed
Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating
Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating
Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating
Like a drum my heart never stops beating

For you, for you
Baby I'm not moving on
I love you long after you're gone.
For you, for you.
You would never sleep alone
I love you long after you're gone.
For you, for you.
Baby I'm not moving on,
I love you long after you're gone.
For you, for you.
You would never sleep alone.
I love you long, long after you're gone.

Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating
Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating
Like a drum, baby, don't stop beating
Like a drum my heart never stops beating for you

And long after you're gone, gone, gone.
I love you long after you're gone gone, gone.
